Jorge Nicifore Fund

     I just received the e-mail below from long time fishing buddy Ralph Cox. It concerns our longtime friend Jorge Nicifore.  Jorge or George as many know him by has been the Chef on board the Red Rooster III from its first voyage back in the early 1980's and has worked as a chef for Lee Palm Sportfishers over 30 years.  For those who have shared a trip with him you know how wonderful a chef he is but even more how great a friend he is.  I have known Jorge since 1984 and I consider him to be one of my best friends. The e-mail below explains his current health condition and future financial concerns.

     I have started this web page let people know about Jorge and so his friends and fishing buddies can help him as well as pass this site to more of Jorge's amigos.

Hi Everyone,
 
This is going to be difficult to write. I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Jorge's son. His English is better than my Spanish, but not by much so it was difficult for me to understand everything. I will "try" to be as accurate as I can as I have to make certain assumptions drawn from a difficult conversation.
 
I know one of Jorge's biggest concerns is his Family and financial situation. I know he would NOT ask for this, but I know he would appreciate any and all help we can give him. Send a card, a note, and I hate to ask, a contribution of any denomination. Even though he won't ask for money I know he and his family would appreciate any financial help we can provide.
 
I am sure I have missed some of his friends on this email so if you know of others who wish to be kept informed via email, please let me know and give me an email address.
 
He does want Linda to come Sat. (July 14th) for a short visit, but that will be determined by his condition. She will call the hospital tomorrow and see if he can have a visitor. He also does want me to come down Monday. I feel bad that he is only requesting a few visitors, but I don't honestly think he can handle too many people right now. If you wish, I will continue to keep you informed.
